Permit Card Posting
Job Site Permit Card Posting Guidelines: New Residential Construction
The building permit card shall:
- be displayed on a surface constructed for the purpose. A tree, utility pole, etc. is not permitted;
- be posted at the corner of the permitted lot no more than 5 feet from the curb and 3 to 5 feet above grade;
- is removable from a weather resistant container;
- have the address and inspection record visible from the street and;
- be posted until the Final Building inspection is approved.
Inspections will be performed if the permit card complies with the posting guidelines. Call 785-832-7700 to obtain a replacement card and schedule or cancel inspections.
Note: A recommended method of display is setting a 2" x 12" x 3 to 5 foot board into a bucket filled with concrete. Permanently attach two or more size 10 binder clips to the board. Insert the building permit card into a transparent string envelope and attach to the clips. The envelopes and clips are available at office supply stores.
