Inspection Process Page
Requesting Inspections and/or Permits:When your project is ready for an inspection, you may request your inspection by either calling (785) 832-7710, fax (785) 832-3110 or submitting the form below. Inspection requests are required to be received before 4:00 p.m., the day prior to that requested for the inspection.
If the project address is North of 15th Street, this is a morning inspection. Morning inspections are conducted between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., the next business day. If you would like to request an early inspection, the inspection should take place between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. A late inspection will take place between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
If the project address is South of 15th Street, this is an afternoon inspection. Afternoon inspections are conducted between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., the next business day. If you would like to request an early afternoon inspection, the inspection will take place between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. A late afternoon inspection will take place between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The inspections are free, unless the inspector continues to inspect the same item that was disapproved. If he/she has to make a fourth trip out to the site, the contractor will be charged an additional $47.00 at the end of the month. Requests for inspections after 4:00 p.m. will be charged a late request fee of $47.00.
Inspection requests for a project North of 15th Street to be conducted in the afternoon will accrue a $47.00 fee. Inspection requests for a project South of 15th Street to be conducted in the morning will accrue a $47.00 fee.
