Continuing Education Providers for Contractors & Tradesmen

Class A, B, C, and D Contractors: The qualifying party is required to obtain 8 hours of continuing education to renew for 2008. Contractors licensed by the City of Lawrence are required to accrue 8 hours of continuing education per year to renew your license the following year. You may consider any category of the continuing education offered during the Johnson County Contractor Licensing Program 2007 Fall Education Seminar to be approved for the Lawrence contractor license renewal process. Remember, you receive a maximum of 8 hours of education as part of your City of Lawrence license fee. You are welcome to sign up for more than 8 hours per year, but you will be charged $20 per classroom hour for any hours beyond the 8 included as part of your license fee. *See Multiple Contractor License Holders.

Class E Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical Contractors: The master listed on the contractor’s license is required to obtain 8 hours of continuing education to renew for 2008. Contractors licensed by the City of Lawrence are required to accrue 8 hours of continuing education per year to renew your license the following year. You may consider any category of the continuing education offered during the Johnson County Contractor Licensing Program 2007 Fall Education Seminar to be approved for the Lawrence contractor license renewal process. Remember, you receive a maximum of 8 hours of education as part of your City of Lawrence license fee. You are welcome to sign up for more than 8 hours per year, but you will be charged $20 per classroom hour for any hours beyond the 8 included as part of your license fee.

Tradesmen-Masters and Journeymen: 6 hours of continuing education is required to renew your license for 2008. You may consider any category of the continuing education offered during the Johnson County Contractor Licensing Program 2007 Fall Education Seminar to be approved for the Lawrence contractor license renewal process. We welcome you to participate in the classes that Johnson County Contractor Licensing offers but you are responsible for payment of classes attended. Cost is $20 per classroom hour for each class. Additional trade specific courses provided below.

*Multiple Contractor License Holders: 8 hours will satisfy the continuing education for all City of Lawrence licenses you carry.

Multiple Qualifying Parties on a Contractors License: If your license holds more then one qualifying party, each qualifying party is responsible for 8 hours of continuing education to renew for 2008.
